Years later, the young doctor Susanne returns to her small hometown on Lake Wörthersee to take over the practice of her colleague and ex-boyfriend Max Benninger, who wants to go abroad for a few months. However, when his grandmother has a heart attack, Max decides to stay for the time being. He and Susanne, who used to be a couple, have to come to terms. Meanwhile, Susanne's father has completely different worries: He wants to build a huge health center in the picturesque town - against the will of the population, who fear that the shrewd businessman is actually up to completely different plans.
