10 seasons • 2014 • Continuing
Family, Talk Show
Órbita Laika is a late night show of scientific dissemination and humor broadcast on the Spanish network La 2,2 that began its weekly broadcasts on December 7, 2014. The name of the program is due to the dog Laika, who was the first terrestrial living being to orbit the Earth.
Since 2019, with the start of the 5th season, the team, set and structure was renewed to make a scientific dissemination program and leave the excessive humor of the previous ones, although it was still present. Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, renowned mathematician and popularizer, conducts a program based on sections of different scientific fields introduced by new collaborators specialized in the field.
