It tells the story of a common Go teacher, Cui Ye, who gets involved in a crime due to an accident and gradually turns to a life of crime. His elder brother, Cui Wei, who is a policeman, spares no effort in pursuing him. The story depicts how the two brothers end up on completely opposite paths, one on the side of darkness and the other on the side of justice.
